Coenzyme Q10 is a vitamin-like substance found in every cell of the body. It is used to produce energy for cell growth and maintenance, and acts as a powerful antioxidant to protect the body from pathogens. CoQ10 has been clinically indicated in the treatment of heart disease, muscle weakness and pain, blood sugar balancing/diabetes, and periodontal disease (and dental focal infections in my experience).
CoQ10 boosts energy and speeds recovery from exercise. It has also been used in the treatment of many forms of cancer, and is recommended to all statin drug users since this drug dangerously depletes the stores of CoQ10 in our bodies.
For decades, coenzyme Q10 has only been available from Japan. The problem with this is that soy oil is used in all the Japanese CoQ supplements. Soy oil is typically extracted with the highly toxic solvent hexane, is too high in inflammatory omega-6 fatty acids, is full of anti-nutrients (saponins, goitrogens, genistein, etc.), and most soy products are currently GMO-derived.
However, recently New Zealand has developed a new coenzyme Q10 using the most active and utilizable form of this nutrient—ubiquinone.
