The body requires certain essential minerals to function optimally. Based on this physiological fact the German biochemist William H. Schuessler in 1873 originated cell salt supplements, also called tissue salts. (“Salt” refers to any type of readily dissolvable mineral compound, not just sodium chloride or table salt.) Dr. Schuessler found that a deficiency in these minerals could lead to disease and dysfunction in the body, and that supplementation with cell salts could often restore health.
Dr. Schuessler’s students included renowned homeopaths such as Dr. Constantine Hering of Philadelphia and H.C.G. Luyties of St. Louis. The Luyties brand, named after this famous American homeopath, is the brand that tests the best using energetic testing (Matrix Reflex Testing, or MRT). Luyties cell salts are made with lactose, not magnesium stearate – a toxic trans fat – that is often used as an excipient by other cell salt companies.
The 6X potency tests superiorly clinically and energetically for me, as well as for other colleagues who utilize energetic testing, including Dr. Michael Adams of Toronto. It should be noted that cell salts are not succussed and are thus not strictly homeopathic. Therefore, cell salts do not antidote other homeopathic remedies.
Kali muriaticum, or potassium chloride, is an essential component in muscles, nerves, blood, and brain cells. It is thus commonly prescribed to treat generally sluggish conditions and nerve and brain degeneration, to aid in the process of convalescence and to rebuild one’s strength. Kali mur is also indicated in the healing of gums and is therefore often used in the treatment of gingivitis and periodontitis.
Cell salts work well together when combined. For example, Ferrum phos and Kali mur have been taken together to naturally reduce fevers, as well as for colds and chronic catarrhal conditions. Additionally, Kali mur is often indicated with Calc phos, Silicea, Calc fluor, and Mag phos after dental tooth or gum surgery, or after drilling with the placement of new fillings and crowns.
Note that unlike many other brands, these lactose-based Luyties cell salts do not contain magnesium stearate—a toxic and indigestible trans fat.
Dosage: 4 tablets dissolved under the tongue 1 to 3 times a day or as directed by your health care practitioner, at least 10 minutes away from food. Children typically need ½ this dosage.
