The body requires certain essential minerals to function optimally. Based on this physiological fact the German biochemist William H. Schuessler in 1873 originated cell salt supplements, also called tissue salts. (“Salt” refers to any type of readily dissolvable mineral compound, not just sodium chloride or table salt.) Dr. Schuessler found that a deficiency in these minerals could lead to disease and dysfunction in the body, and that supplementation with cell salts could often restore health.
Dr. Schuessler’s students included renowned homeopaths such as Dr. Constantine Hering of Philadelphia and H.C.G. Luyties of St. Louis. The Luyties brand, named after this famous American homeopath, is the brand that tests the best using energetic testing (Matrix Reflex Testing, or MRT). Luyties cell salts are made with lactose, not magnesium stearate – a toxic trans fat – that is often used as an excipient by other cell salt companies.
The 6X potency tests superiorly clinically and energetically for me, as well as for other colleagues who utilize energetic testing, including Dr. Michael Adams of Toronto. It should be noted that cell salts are not succussed and are thus not strictly homeopathic. Therefore, cell salts do not antidote other homeopathic remedies.
Calcarea phosphoricum is the major constituent in bones and teeth. It is commonly prescribed for teething problems, after dental drilling or surgery, to reduce tooth decay, and to stimulate the timely eruption of teeth. An insufficient supply of calcarea phosphoricum can result in deficient nutrition and retarded growth, thus it is often needed during puberty to encourage normal growth and development. In the same way Calc phos can be helpful to prevent fractures and reduce osteoporotic tendencies in the elderly.
Cell salts work well together when combined. For example, for delayed dentition in children (teeth are erupting too slowly or late), Calc fluor, Calc phos, and Silicea are often prescribed together. And since Mag phos helps harden dental enamel, it is often combined with Calc fluor, Calc phos, and/or Silicea post-dental drilling or surgery. To restore the body after major acute illnesses and to treat fatigue and anemia, Calc phos and Ferrum phos are often taken together. Additionally, Calc phos and Mag phos are often prescribed in combination to treat muscle or menstrual cramps and spasms.
Note that unlike many other brands, these lactose-based Luyties cell salts do not contain magnesium stearate—a toxic and indigestible trans fat.
Dosage: 4 tablets dissolved under the tongue 1 to 3 times a day or as directed by your health care practitioner, at least 10 minutes away from food. Children typically need ½ this dosage.
